Punjab: Ashu directs to complete Smart Card updating process by Feb 25

Chandigarh, Feb 19 (UNI) Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Wednesday directed the officials of the food and civil supplies department to complete the updating process of smart cards by February 25 by all means.
Stating this while presiding over a review meeting pertaining to the smart cards with the field officers of 12 districts here, Mr Ashu said that ration should be disbursed on priority to those beneficiaries, whose names have already been registered on the portal of department.
Reviewing the progress of Amritsar, Bathinda, Hoshiarpur, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Ludhiana, Moga, Rupnagar, SBS Nagar, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar and Tarn Taran, the Minister said that he had received complaints against some Food inspectors regarding their apathetic approach towards departmental work.
