Pune astrologer challenges Andhrashraddha committee

Pune, Apr 25 (UNI) Renowned astrologer Atul Chajjed today challenged the Maharashtra Andhrashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS -- the committee working to eradicate superstitions) to prove their claim that there is no base to astrology and astrologers are fooling the public.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Chajjed said if the MANS has any proof or evidence, let them disclosed it to public or hold the news conference jointly with him about their claim.
He said, ''As per the Indian Constitution, I have a right to reply to the people who are involved and misleading the public in the name of 'Jotish Vidya'.''
''I cannot tolerate if somebody tries to tarnish the Jotish Vidya (astrology),'' he warned.
He said that MANS has hurt the sentiment of astrologers by saying public by that there is no base to astrology and astrologers are making fooling public.
Mr Chajjed appealed MANS to stop making false claims and noted that astrology is one of the sciences and it is very difficult to learn.
He said that he had planned to carry out a protest march against MANS to the office of district collector but could not do so, as police refused to give him permission for the same.
He claimed that Jotish Vidya always played an important role in the life of people.
