Pulwana attack: Rajnath holds high level meeting to review security situation


New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Soon after the all party meeting on Saturday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh held a high level meeting at his residence to review the security situation in the country, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, RAW chief Anil Dhasmana, IB additional Director Arvind Kumar were present in the meeting to update the Home Minister with the progress of investigation in last 48 hours of terror attack on CRPF convoy.
The National Security Guard (NSG) preliminary report to Home Ministry on Friday, indicates the use of highly volatile chemical were mixed with RDX to make the it more lethal.

The Intelligence officials appraised Home Minister about the prevailing situation in J&K, including along the Indo-Pak borde. The Minister was also informed about the new strategy of hiring locals and novice terrorist by Jaish-e Mohammad (JeM).
The Home Minister directed the officials to ensure all possible steps to be taken to hunt down terrorists hiding in J&K.
Mr Singh was informed that NIA has collected substantial forensic evidence from blast site which is also pointing finger at JeM's involvement.

The NIA forensic team is lifting evidences from the scene of crime and that will help in nailing the accused. The team was rushed to blast site on early morning on Friday.
Later, NIA DG YC Modi also met Home Minister at his residence.
