Pt Nehru’s lofty thoughts cemented India: MP CM

Bhopal, Nov 14 (UNI) India stands united today under a single ensign – the proud Tricolour – owing to the nationa’s first premier’s vision and competent leadership, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath underlined on Thursday and mentioned that – in accordance with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s perception, the state dispensation is working in a planned manner to educate the future generation and make it competent plus successful through personality development.
“Pt Nehru was extremely concerned vis-a-vis developing a scientific approach coupled with an educated country. In the post-Independence era, he determinedly faced a Herculean challenge in the context of nation-building through firming up unity in diversity and enlightening the country. All the present reputed academic institutions and research centres within our borders are his gift. He laid the robust foundation of our realm, which ranks among the world’s powerful nations,” Mr Nath was officially quoted as saying at Barkatullah University during his address at a seminar marking Pt Nehru’s 130th birth anniversary.
Credit for the fact that Indian democracy is strong and every attempt to weaken it ends in failure goes to Pt Nehru, the Chief Minister said, adding that every sector – including education – has undergone change.
“Earlier, we possessed limited resources of knowledge. I call upon youth to fathom the transformation, adopt it and contribute in establishing our country as a vigorous land. Comprehend the difference between education and knowledge. When I was Sanjay Gandhi’s classmate at Doon School, Pt Nehru along with his daughter Indira Gandhi used to visit Sanjay and Rajiv once a month as per the institution’s rules. I thus came in contact with the two great personalities and would spend time with them all day long but never felt like I was in the Premier’s presence. There was no pomp and show,” he reminisced.
Mr Nath inaugurated and viewed an exhibition besides releasing a souvenir.
