Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh), Dec 11 (UNI) In a flawless and textbook
mission, ISRO's workhorse launch vehicle PSLV, in its Golden Jubilee
flight (PSLV-C48) today successfully launched the 628 kg RISAT-2BR1,
the 'sharp eyed' radar imaging earth observation satellite and nine
foreign satellites into the desired orbit.
After a smooth 22.45 hour countdown, the PSLV-C48 took off majestically
from the First Launch Pad (FLP) at 1525 hrs from the SHAR Range here
and about 16 minutes flight duration, RISAT-2BR1, with a mission life of
five years, was first injected into an Orbit of 576 km with an inclination of
37 deg to the equator.
