PSLV-C43 to launch HySIS, 30 satellites in 2 different orbits on Nov 29

Chennai, Nov 27 (UNI) Buoyed by the success of the GSAT-29 mission
by the heaviest launch vehicle GSLV-MkIII-D2, the Indian Space
Agency was all set to launch its earth observation satellite HySIS
along with 30 co-passenger satellites, including 23 from the United
States, on November 29.
The core alone, four-stage workhorse launch vehicle of ISRO, PSLV-C43
would lift off from the First Launch Pad at 1000 hrs from the Spaceport
of Sriharikota.
This would be the 45th flight of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle
(PSLV).
In its 13th mission of PSLV Core alone variant, the rocket would place
the satellites in two different orbits.
ISRO sources said on Tuesday that HySIS was an earth observation
satellite developed by ISRO.
Weighing 380 kg, HySIS, built around ISRO's Mini Satellite-2 (IMS-2)
bus, was the primary satellite of the PSLV-C43 mission and it would
be placed in a 636 km Polar Sun Synchronous Orbit with an inclination
of 97.957 deg to the equator.
The mission life of the satellite is five years.
The primary goal of HySIS was to study the earth’s surface in visible,
near infrared and shortwave infrared regions of the electromagnetic
spectrum.
The co-passengers of HySIS included one Micro and 29 Nano satellites
from eight countries. All these satellites will be placed in a 504 km
orbit by PSLV-C43.
