New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) Promising all possible assistance in the incident of suspected murder of four Indian-origin family members in California, India on Friday termed the incident "shocking" and said that Indian mission in San Francisco is following up the matter with local authorities.
"The police officers of Merced County are actively probing the criminal act. Our Embassy is also following the developments and is in contact with the family. We will continue to provide all possible assistance. This is a shocking incident," said Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.
Seeking intervention of the Ministry of External Affairs in the case, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also appealed to EAM S Jaishankar to conduct a high-level inquiry in the death of the Indian-origin family that was kidnapped and later found dead in California.
