Protest against screening Bahubali 2 withdrawn in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Apr 22 (UNI) A Green signal was given for screening block buster Babubali 2 in Karnataka as pro-Kannada organisations withdrew its protest accepting the apology by Satyaraj, yesterday. Former MLA and Kannada Paksha leader Vatal Nagarj who had spearheaded the agitation announced withdrawing the protest following the apology. He also announced withdrawal of Karnataka Bandh call given on April 28. Announcing the withdrawal of the protest, Vatal Nagaraj told newsmen here that "we are not against the movie but wanted Sathyaraj to aplogise to his comments on Kannadigas. We will not stall the movie release now." The movie was slated for release on April 28 in Karnataka. Meanwhile, following rumors about ban of Kannada films in Tamil Nadu, some pro Kannada activists tore posters of Tamil films in retaliation. However, after Film Chamber President Sa Ra Govindaraju, who spoke to his counterpart, clarified that there is no such move and all Kannada films are screened in the neighboring State.
