Saharanpur, Dec 10 (UNI) Well-known for her association with the 'Narmada Bachao Andolan,' social worker Medha Patkar on Monday said the Constitution of the country has given India an identity of a secular nation and to continue that, was the ethical responsibility of every citizen of the country.
Addressing a programme organised in Bharatiya Sadan at Nangalmafi of Shakumbri Devi, Ms Patkar said the boundaries of the Constitution had to be kept in mind, while initiating any struggle for the rights of an individual.
Underscoring the significance of the Constitution, she said it was not a religious text. Constitution protects the rights of every citizen, while making them realise their responsibility towards the country, she pointed out.
