Hyderabad, Dec 4 (UNI) Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has said that promoting Electric Vehicles (EVs) is the foremost priority of the state government.
Speaking at the high-level ministerial round-table conference organised by Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, in Goa, for promotion of electric vehicles, Mr Kumar, who addressed the session regarding the impetus of EVs adoption & manufacturing in Telangana, said that it becomes the third state in India to launch an electric vehicle and Energy Storage Policy after Delhi and Gujarat.
The Minister said that the Telangana government, as part of its new policy to promote electric vehicles, offers 100 per cent exemption of road tax and registration fee for the first two lakh electric two-wheelers purchased and registered within the state.
