Promise of job is a 'lie' in UP, workers are committing suicide: UP Congress

Lucknow,Jul 13(UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress has termed the state government’s claim to give 1.25 crore jobs as a 'lie', stating that the Yogi Adityanath government has 'cheated' the unemployed and migrant workers. At the ground level, the situation is so bad that the migrant workers are committing suicide.
Expressing anger over suicides being committed by migrant workers in the state, UP Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu said that thee Yogi government has cheated the unemployed youths and migrant workers. Mr. Lallu said that over fifteen migrant workers have committed suicide in Banda district alone after they returned from different parts of the country due to corona pandemic. Only recently a migrant worker took the extreme step after he was not able to deal with financial hardships arising out of the job loss.
Launching an attack on the Yogi government, the UPCC chief said in a statement here on Monday that the government should tell the people how many unemployed youths and others got job after agreements worth trillions of rupees were inked during Defence Expo and Investor Meet. In organizing both the events, the government spent money like anything.
