Prominent Kashmiri poet bags Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2019

Srinagar, Jun 14 (UNI) Prominent Kashmiri poet and author Sagar Nazir has won the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2019 for his book Thaer Angnech -- a collection of poetry -- in Kashmiri language category.
Expressing happiness over his nomination for Yuva Puraskar given by Sahitya Akademi, Mr Nazir said it is an honour that his work has been recognized and awarded by the Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters.
''Sahitya Akademi announced its annual Yuva Puraskar 2019 in 23 languages, including Kashmiri, on Friday. My Book is among 11 books of poetry, six short stories books, five novels, and one literary book, who have won the award this year,'' Mr Nazir told UNI.
