Pro Kabaddi league begins; U Mumba beat Telugu Titans in opening game

Pro Kabaddi league begins; U Mumba beat Telugu Titans in opening game

Hyderabad, Jul 20 (UNI) U Mumba defeated Telugu Titans by 31-25 in the opening game of the seventh edition of Pro Kabaddi league held at Gachibowli stadium here on Saturday evening.

It was a defensive masterclass from U Mumba, who managed to keep Telugu Titans' most dangerous raider Siddharth Desai quiet all night.

For the first time in Pro Kabaddi history, Rahul Chaudhari didn’t play for Telugu Titans. Siddharth Desai has been brought in as his replacement after Telugu Titans spent a whopping Rs 1.45 crore in PKL 2019 auctions.

However in the second match, defending champions Bengaluru Bulls are in action as they take on three-time champions Patna Pirates.

Bengaluru Bulls have Pawan Sehrawat in their ranks, who helped them lift the trophy with his ability to score super raids.

On the other hand, three-time champions Patna Pirates failed to reach the playoffs last year as they didn't find any raider who could support their star raider Pardeep Narwal.

The organisers unveiled the trophy on Friday in the presence of all 12 captains.
