Pro Kabaddi: Clinical Titans wins effortlessly in opener of Season 5

Hyderabad, Jul 28 (UNI) In a star studded opening match of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 5, the hosts Telegu Titans defeated the visitors Tamil Thalaivas here at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium by 32-27. In a glittering opening ceremony witnessed Akshay Kumar delivering the National Anthem. Cricket Maestro Sachin Tendulkar also graced the evening with his presence and comments at the sideline. The Tamil Thalaivas co-owner commented at the occasion," Indian sport is growing by the day and I am very happy that Kabaddi is taking giant strides." Led by Rahul Chaudhari the Titans outwitted the debutant Ajay Thakur led Tamil Thalaivas. Both the teams was cautious at their approach from the start reading the opponents defence. But it was not before the most successful raider Rahul took charge of the match in successive raids. Trailing from behind Thalaivas made a comeback at 8-8. However, the hosts capitalised every opportunities finally inflicting an all-out in the 16th minute thus leading by 14-8. The first half concluded in 18-11 in favour of the hosts. The second half saw the Thalaivas making some brilliant efforts but Rahul's first super 10 and Vishal Bharadwaj's High 5 of the season rendered the Thalaivas helpless. Prapanjan's valiant effort was too late to make a comeback for the Tamil franchise. Nilesh Salunke was adjudged the player of the match.
