Thrissur, Mar 31 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Priyanaka Gandhi on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not say a single word about the attack on Kerala nuns on a train in Jhansi last week and instead, quoted the Bible during his election campaign in Palakkad yesterday.
"The Bible is a word of truth and he did not understand the essence of the holy book. He just took an opportunity to appease the Christians by just mentioning the name of book," Priyanka was addressing an election rally at the Thekinkadu maidan here at the end of a roadshow that culminated at the end of a tour of all the 13 assembly constituencies of Thrissur district today.
She said she herself was a volunteer at a sisters" convent where she used to serve the poor and destitute. The nuns are doing a very sacred duty all over. The Prime Minister never understood the dignity and sanctity of service offered by nuns and that is why he never bothered to condemn the attack on a group of Kerala sisters.
