Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) Two-month-old Prince Rajbhar, who lost his arm in a fire at the KEM hospital's Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in the financial capital, passed away on Friday morning.
Dr Hemant Deshmukh, dean, of KEM hospital, said, 'Prince was critical and remained on maximum ventilator support. His condition deteriorated during the night. He suffered a cardiac arrest at 0230 hrs and breathed his last at 0245 hrs.
Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Prince was brought to KEM hospital with a congenital heart ailment. On November 7, an ECG cable caught fire, causing severe burn injuries to the baby, leading to the amputation of his left arm.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) offered a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs to Prince's family, which was rejected by the infant's parents.
