Prime Minister to release 3rd instalment of PM-KISAN scheme

Prime Minister to release 3rd instalment of PM-KISAN scheme

Bengaluru, Jan 2 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will disburse Rs 12,000 crore to six crore farmers under PM-KISAN scheme through e-transfer in Tumkur on Thursday.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive here by this afternoon. He will visit the Siddaganga Mutt to pay tribute to the memorial of the Centurial pontiff followed by an address at the convention.

The payment, the third instalment of the current financial year, will be made directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts in one go like what the PM did on the launch of (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme on February 24, 2019. Over 2,000 crore were then transferred to the bank accounts of over 1.01 crore farmers at an event in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Though the disbursal on Thursday won't be able to cover the backlog of first two instalments of current financial year, it'll certainly give an additional push to the scheme which couldn't meet its target of first instalment by July and second instalment by November despite being taken off quite well during last quarter of 2018-19.

Prime minister will also present Krishi Karmani award in honor of the achievements made by the farmers.

He will also distribute fisheries equipments to the Fisheries farmers at the function and launch Kisan Credit Card facilities to the fisheries communities.

Prime minister, during his two-day visit to the southern state will also inaugurate the 107 Indian Science Congress, being held at the GKVK campus in the city on Friday.
