Prez calls upon academic community to create new knowledge base to sustain human society

Bhubaneswar, Dec 08 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind today called upon the academic community to engage in research in areas to create a new knowledge base that sustains human society.
Universities are great hub of ideas but they are not ivory tower.They are part of society and thus remain engaged with social change, Mr.Kovind said while addressing the Platinum Jublee celebration of Utkal University,the premier institution of Odisha.
Stating that the students and teachers should be sensitive towards the themes of empowerment of the marginalized, the President emphasized that the environment, health and education should be taken up vigorously.
