New Delhi, Sept 17 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday said that Hindi had a strong presence on the world map with more than one crore people speaking the language outside India.
``The 11th World Hindi Conference saw the participation of more than 2,000 representatives from 45 countries,’’ he observed at a function here to facilitate Indian scholars who were acknowledged at the conference held in Mauritius recently.
The President also praised the role played by Hindi cinema in popularising the language in India and abroad.
