Preparations to hold Civic Poll kickstarts in UT

Puducherry, Oct 22 (UNI) Preparations for holding the local body election in the Union Territory, which was not held for the last nearly 10 years, kickstarted with the appointment of a new State Election Commissioner (SEC).
Lt.Governor Kiran Bedi had issued orders for the appointment of Mr Roy P Thomas, a retired IFS officer as the SEC.
Mr Thomas who assumed office here on Thursday called on the Lt.Governor.
