Prannoy, Saina campaign ends at China Open

Fuzhou (China), Nov 16 (UNI) Indian star shuttlers HS Prannoy and Saina Nehwal campaign ended at China Open Superseries after losing in the second round against their respective rivals in the men's and women's event on Thursday.



However, Sindhu still stands firm in the tournament.

HS Prannoy ranked 11th in world ranking lost the match to Cheuk Yiu Lee of China ranked 53 in straight sets 21-19, 21-17 finishing the game in 42 minutes while Saina Nehwal was defeated by World No 4 Akane Yamaguchi of Japan 21-18, 21-11.

This was Saina's fourth loss to Yamaguchi this year.

Earlier, on Wednesday both Prannoy and Saina won their opening matches against against Lee Dong Keun 18-21, 21-16, 21-19 and Beiwen Zhang of US in straight games 21-12, 21-13.
