Pradhan urges Pokhriyal to accord central university status to Utkal university

Bhubaneswar, Nov 27 (UNI) Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan today requested the Union Education ministry to grant central university status to Utkal University.
Mr Pradhan in a letter to Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishant said there is an acute necessity for setting up a second central university in the state specifically around Bhubaneswar.
He said Bhubaneswar is set to become an education and economic hub in eastern India and classifying Utkal University as a central university would not only cater to the students from the coastal and eastern region of Odisha but would also create the potential for employment generation, industry-academia interface and advanced research in the region.

SER undertakes massive development in Railway infrastructure during pandemic year

Kolkata, Jan 24 (UNI) South Eastern Railway has emphasized on the massive developmental work in Railway infrastructure in spite of severe adverse situation being faced by the field workers and officers during lockdown in phases in the country since March 25, 2020 and continuation of post COVID-19 pandemic period.
The Civil Engineering Department of South Eastern Railway, taking it a challenge, has stepped up its entire network in all the four Divisions viz, Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi and has done overall improvement of Railway infrastructure.
