Prabhu petitioned to celebrate Apr 15 as National Aviation Day

New Delhi, Sep 14 (UNI) Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday shot off a letter to Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu, and urged him to designate April 15 as Indian National Aviation Day.
An aviation buff himself, Mr Chandrasekhar proposed the Union Minister to consider allocating a specific day for the celebration of national aviation day.
He wrote April 15th marks the birthday of Indian Air Force Marshal Arjan Singh, DFC who was awarded the Padma Vibhushan for his distinguished service in commanding the IAF during the 1965 India-Pakistan war and in 1966 became the first IAF officer to be promoted to air chief marshal.
