Postcards on Buddha and other statues of Tank bund released

Hyderabad, Dec 1 (UNI) Hyderabad City Postal Division, Telangana Circle released Postcards on Budda, Makhdoom Mohiuddin, Gurram Jashuva, Sri Ramadasu, Molla, Nannayya, Tikkana, Yerrapragada, Kshetrayya, Pothana of the statues of Tank Bund at Dak Sadan, Abids, here on Wednesday.

The Buddha Statue is the world's tallest monolith of Gautama Buddha located in India. On 1st December 1992, it was erected on a concrete platform in the middle of Hussain Sagar. The concrete platform measuring 15 feet (4.6 m), now referred to as the "Rock of Gibraltar" was constructed in the middle of Hussain Sagar to aid in erecting the statue. In 2006, the Dalai Lama consecrated the statue after performing a ritual.
