Post stampede : CM Vijay visits Karur, to meet victim families, hand over govt job orders, lay stone for private footwear unit

Chennai, July 10 (UNI) In his first visit after the tragic stampdee that snuffed out the lives of 41 people during his political outreach laat year, Chief Minister and TVK Founder Vijay reached Karur on Friday to meet the families of the victims and hand over appointment orders providing government jobs, a move that was opposed by the two Left parties, which are providing outside support to the ruling dispensation.
Vijay who left Chennai for Trichy by air and reached Karur by road, will also distribute welfare assistance to beneficiaries in his first official function after assuming office as the Chief Minister.
He will also address a public meeting at the Atlas Kalaiyaranga Ground on the Karur-Salem bypass Road.
