Positive cases rise to 181 in Kerala, 1,41,211 people under surveillance: Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 29 (UNI) With 20 more people testing positive for Coronavirus on Sunday, total affected cases rose to 181 in Kerala, Health Minister KK Shailaja said here.
"Currently 1,41,211 people are under surveillance, out of which 1,40,618 under isolation in homes and 593 in hospitals," the Minister said in a statement.
"Four affected cases tested negative in Pathanamthitta district on Sunday. Another 16 positive cases have been cured and they were discharged from hospitals after testing negative so far. Hence, the total cases, including one death, reported positive in Kerala were 202," the Minister clarified.
She said 20 new positive cases of today's include eight from Kannur district, seven from Kasaragod and one each from Thiruvananthapuram, Eranakulam, Malappuram, Thrissur and Palakkad districts. A Health worker from Eranakulam district tested positive today, she added.
"Of the new cases, 18 are persons who returned from overseas and two have acquired the disease through local contact, one being a health worker in Ernakulam District," she clarified.
"Out of 6,690 blood samples sent for the Virology Institute, 5,518 tested negative. Today, 105 people were newly admitted to various hospitals in the State," she added.
