Population control awareness meet in Guwahati tomorrow

Guwahati, Oct 16 (UNI) In order to spread awareness among the masses and to demand a strict law to control population, the North East unit of Jansankha Samadhan Foundation (JSF) will be organising a programme with its workers here tomorrow on the occasion of ‘Kati Bihu’ to encourage them to move forward with determination and perseverance.
JSF president, Assam Chapter, Shiva Prasad Sharma, addressing the media here maintained that population explosion is badly affecting the economy of the country and it will be more frightful in future if we don't take necessary steps to control the population.
He informed that a population awareness song by singer Nayan, ‘Assam Kaliyabariya’, will also be released in the meeting.

All 15 candidates for two LS seats clear scrutiny

Itanagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Altogether, 168 nominations filed for the upcoming Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were found to be valid after scrutiny of papers on Thursday, while the process of scrutinising nominations against Itanagar and Daporijo constituencies has been adjourned till Friday, the results of which would be out by 11 a.m., an election official said.

Probe into killing of two people in Meghalaya
