Ponzy Scam: Mining Baron Janardhana Reddy continued to be grilled by CCB

Bengaluru, Nov 11 (UNI) Former Karnataka Minister and Mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy continued to be grilled on Sunday by the CCB Officials investigating into Ponzy Scam.
Reddy, who was elusive for three days appeared before the CCB officials on Saturday for questioning as per notice according to him received only on Friday, is under questioning since yesterday and it is continuing. The Police refused home food to him last night stating that he will be provided dinner.
Reddy was interrogated about allegedly receiving 57 kg of gold worth about Rs 18 Crore to help a businessman in the case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate in 2017.
On Friday a court Judge, who has adjourned the anticipatory bail plea by Reddy to Monday, asked the Advocates appearing for him "if he was innocent why he is not appearing before the CCB for questioning but applying for bail even before arrest.
Reddy has also moved the High Court for changing CCB investigating officers alleging that they are spreading derogatory news against him though they dont have proof, not mentioned his name in the FIR filed. The petition is yet to come up for hearing.
In a recorded video released by Reddy from unknown place before appearing before CCB for questioning, had stated that he was either absconding nor evading arrest as alleged by the Police. "I am appearing for questioning one day before CCB. They had asked me to be present on November 11, but I am appearing one day in advance and I will fully cooperate with the investigating team. Due to political pressure the Police are spreading derogatory news against me."
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Alok Kumar, Reddy was questioned about his involvement in Ponzy Scheme unearthed by Enforcement Directorate in 2017.
