Polling for five UP Council seats peaceful

Lucknow, Jan 30 (UNI) Around 45.95 per cent votes were polled for three seats of graduate constituencies and around 72.4 per cent for three seats of teachers constituencies spread over 39 districts of the state in the biennial election of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council on Monday.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) the counting of votes will be done on February 2 from 8 am in Bareilly, Jhansi, Gorakhpur and Kanpur. "Polling was by and large peaceful as no untoward incident was reported from any district.
As per the CEO officer's data among three graduates' constituencies 43.19 per cent votes were polled for Gorakhpur-Faizabad division constituency, 40.93 per cent for Kanpur division and 53.72 per cent for Bareilly-Moradabad constituency till 4 pm at the time of polling concluded.
