Poll conducted for Aurangabad-Jalna legislative council seat

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Aug 19 (UNI) A total of 647 members cast their votes on Monday to elect new member representing the Aurangabad-Jalna seat in the State Legislative Council.
The key contenders for the seat, currently held by Congress' Subhas Zambad, are Shiv Sena's Ambadas Danve and the Opposition's Bhavanidas Kulkarni.
The 647 voters, including 321 male and 326 female, make for 98.48 per cent voter turnout while other 10 members remained absent during the polls, said the officials.
Polling was held at the 17 booths setup in Aurnagabad and Jalna and the counting is scheduled for August 22, apprised the officials.
Ambadas Danve heads the Aurangabad unit of Shiv Sena whereas Congress' Bhavanidas Kulkarni is former Chairman of the Ambad Municipality.
