New Delhi, Feb 17 (UNI) Delhi High Court on Monday issued notice to the Centre, CBI and Delhi Police after hearing a Public Interest Litigation seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged molestation of students during a cultural festival at Gargi College which, it submitted, was an outcome of vote bank politics.
The PIL contended that the molestation was a manifest criminal conspiracy hatched by a political party to incite the Delhi public to vote in its favour two days later in the February 8 Assembly polls.
A division bench of Justices G S Sistani and C Hari Shankar today issued notice to the Central Government, CBI and Delhi Police after hearing the PIL and listed the matter for April 30 for filing the reply and arguments.
On February 14, the bench had listed the PIL seeking a probe of CBI into the alleged molestation for hearing today.
