Lucknow, Mar 28 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday warned that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) policy of intimidation of the opposition parties would prove harmful for the country.
Talking to the reporters at Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) office here, Baghel said that the BJP government at Centre is trying to suppress the voice of democracy. "Constitutional institutions are being misused. Entire country is watching up to what level the BJP government can stoop to suppress the opponents."
He said that it is unfortunate that at a time when the country is celebrating Amrit Mahotsav steps are being taken to strangle democracy and the opposition is being disqualified, suppressed, threatened without answering the questions raised by it.
