Policeman attempts suicide in Nanded

Nanded, Jul 19 (UNI) A police naik allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming a poisonous substance in front of the Mukhed police station over alleged insult by a senior police officer, on Friday.
After annual inspection of the staff by the police officer in the morning, police naik Chandar Vithal Ambekar came in front of the police station, alleged that he was insulted by sub-divisional police officer Ramesh Manikrao Saravade and attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison but due to timely intervention by other policemen, he could be saved.
He was immediately admitted to sub-divisional hospital for treatment, police said.
