Police seizes three kg poppy husk, country liquor in separate cases

Kaithal, Oct 15 (UNI) Police arrested a drug peddler on Tuesday and seized three kg poppy husk, worth around Rs nine lakh in the international market from his cycle, on the embankment of Hansi Butana canal.
According to police, the accused was identified as Kala of Trian in Patiala district. He was produced in a court, which sent him to Judicial custody.
In a separate case, continuing its drive against illegal liquor smugglers, police and the Excise department intercepted a car coming from Maghomajri village side on Tuesday and recovered 40 boxes of liquor.
