Police seizes 23 kg ganja in Almora, two held

Haldwani, Jul 13 (UNI) Four drug peddlers on two motor cycles were arrested in the Bhatronjkhan area of the Almora district and 23 kilogram Ganja was seized from their possession, Police said on Monday.
District Police Spokesman Hema Aithani said here that Ashish Arya, Amit kumar, Yogesh bisht and Ganesh Adhikari were arrested late night on Sunday near Panpola bridge in the Bhatronjkhan area.
The police team has recovered 23.880 kg ganja from their possession, travelling in two motorcycles.
The value of ganja quantity was estimated at rupees one lakh.
The accused fetch this illicit item from rasia mahadev of Pauri garhwal district and were willing to sell it in Ramnagar of the Nainital district.
Mrs Aithani also said that the accused Ganesh Adhikari had been arrested by Chaukhutiya police of the district in the month of November last year under the NDPS act and proceedings against him have also been brought into force under the Gangster act.
All four were booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances act and the vehicles used in smuggling have also been seized.

Virtual display on freedom struggle

Bhopal, Aug 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Culture, Tourism and Spirituality Minister Usha Thakur inaugurated from Indore on Friday an online exhibition based on India’s struggle for independence with specific reference to the 1920-47 period and organised by the Directorate of Archaeology, Archives and Museums.
It may be viewed on www.archaeology.mp.gov.in. Principal Secretary (Culture, Tourism and Public Relations) Sheo Shekhar Shukla was among those present on the occasion, an official release said.

MP Govt focusses on industrial revitalisation

Bhopal, Aug 14 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Friday endorsed the state dispensation’s decisions vis-à-vis restarting and revival of industries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, it was officially learnt.
The related meeting – under Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s chairmanship – was the third such gathering to be held via videoconferencing.
