Police naik held in bribery case in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Jul 3 (UNI) A 45-year-old police naik has been arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant, stated Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) here on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Dhanaji Hari Sarate, who is attached with the Shahuwadi Police Station.
The complainant alleged that Dhanaji demanded Rs 30,000 in lieu of resolving an offense booked against his kin. Following negotiation, the accused settled on the amount of Rs 20,000.
Based on the allegation, a trap was laid in the premises of Shahuwadi Police Station while the accused was nabbed red-handed while accepting the bribe, the ACB added

NETC FASTag crosses 86 million transactions in July

Pune, Aug 11 (UNI) The National Payments Corporation of India(NPCI) on Tuesday stated that the transaction count of NETC FASTag under the National Electronic Toll Collection(NETC) programme has crossed 86 million in July, a sharp jump of 54 per cent as compared to previous two months.
