Police foils PDP rally in Srinagar against SAC decision on J&K bank

Srinagar, Nov 29 (UNI) Police on Thursday foiled a protest rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in this summer capital, against the Governor administration's decision to treat the J&K Bank as a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU).
The State Administrative Council (SAC), headed by Governor Satya Pal Malik, on November 22 approved the proposal for treating the J&K Bank Limited as a PSU, attracting criticism from all sections of the society in the state, including politicians, businessmen and 'economic experts'.
Scores of PDP leaders and activities, led by former Works Minister Naeem Akhtar, took out a protest rally from the party headquarters and marched towards the Press Enclave, here.
