Police bust Rs 120-crore Adichunchanagiri Mutt land grab, 11 arrested

Bengaluru, July 14 (UNI) In one of the biggest land frauds unearthed in Bengaluru in recent years, the city police have busted an alleged Rs 120-crore land-grabbing syndicate that used forged family trees, fake revenue records and the identities of the dead to usurp six acres of prime land belonging to the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math.
Eleven persons, including six Revenue Department officials, have been arrested, while the alleged mastermind, Naresh Gowda of Nelamangala, is absconding.
Police said the racket exposed a deep nexus between private land brokers and government officials, with investigators suspecting similar frauds may have been carried out elsewhere in and around Bengaluru.

APCC demands categorization of BCs on their population radio

Vijayawada, Aug 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) here on Wednesday demanded that BCs should be categorised based on their population ratio before implementing enhanced reservations in local bodies.
Addressing a press conference, APCC Vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji pointed out that BCs have 25% reservation in education and employment-7% for BC-A, 10% for BC-B, 1% for BC-C and 7% for BC-D and demanded that political reservations should also follow the same pattern and that the principle should be applied to the 2.69 crore BC population in Andhra Pradesh.

Unprecedented irregularities in APPSC Group I exams during YSRCP rule: Naidu

Vijayawada, Aug 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday alleged unprecedented irregularities in the APPSC Group-1 examinations conducted during the previous YSRCP regime and vowed to revamp the APPSC system.
All procedures were violated in the recruitment of Group-1 officers, whose services are crucial in shaping the future of the State, he said, while participating in a special discussion in the Legislative Assembly.
