Police bust counterfeit currency notes racket, arrest 5 persons

Eluru, Jun 29 (UNI) Police busted a fake currency notes racket in Palakollu town of West Godavari district by arresting five persons, including a stringer of a Telugu daily newspaper, and seized Rs.7.85 lakh worth fake currency in Rs.500 denomination.
Narsapuram Deputy Superintendent of Police K Nageswara Rao told media in Palacole on Monday that a police team led by Circle Inspector Chinnam Anjaneyulu, Sub-Inspectors F Rehman and JNV Prasad conducted a raid on an under-construction building located near Railway Station.
The police found five persons exchanging fake currency at the spot.
The DSP said that the police team immediately took all the five persons into their custody and seized Rs.7.85 lakh worth fake currency in Rs.500 denomination, a printer, 3 laptops and Rs.40,000 in cash.
Mr Rao said the accused Yadla Venkatesh and Guttula Venkata Ramana were involved in various offences and were sent to jail.
