Jalandhar, May 26 (UNI) Commissionerate police nabbed Deepak Kamboj, district president of Shiv Sena Uttar Bharat and son of Vinay Jalandhari, national president of the body. A police officer said that he was arrested from near the local civil hospital. Deepak was fired upon by tow motor cycle borne assailants at the gate of a Shiv Jyoti Public School in Upadhayay Nagar as soon as he stopped his bike in front of the gate of the school about three months back. He received two bullets onhis leg and was rushed to a private hospital. After the police failed to nab the assailants, not only the leaders of Shiv Sena but of other Hindu Organizationd had started condemning the role of the police in delaying the arrest of the accused. Following which DGP Suresh Arora constituted a three member SIT to probe the matter. The SIT arrested two youths of the city who during interrogation revealed the entire plot of Deepak Kamboj for managing self staged drama to secure more security cover for self and his family besides gaining publicity. During interrogation both the accused Gaurav Sondhi and Supinder Singh told the police that Deepak had instructed them to fire shots in such a way that he was not injured much that is why he was shot in the knee.
