Police arrest cheater while being in 'police uniform' in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a man impersonating as a Police officer in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, a police spokesman said Sunday evening.
He said Police received a complaint from a resident of village Kelam area of Devsar that a person came in contact with him and introduced himself as a Police Officer.
The person assured the complainant that the case of his son who is under detention will be freed and demanded Rs one lakh to close the file. The complainant paid him Rs 5000 in advance to close the case before complaining at Police station.

Srinagar, Feb 28 (UNI) The Kashmir-based Media houses have alleged that unfavourable working environment is being created by some vested interests to sabotage their respective organisations.

A Jammu Kashmir Press Association (JKPA) spokesperson on Sunday said the Printers, Publishers and Editors of some newspapers along with representatives of other publishing houses deliberated and discussed multiple problems confronted by Kashmir-based Media Houses during a meeting Press Club on Saturday. “The meeting was held under the chairmanship of JKPA president Ghulam Hassan Kaloo,” he said.
