PM urges bravery award winning children to stay connected with nature

New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) Congratulating the winners of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2019 for their achievements, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged the extra-ordinarily gifted children to stay connected with nature.
Interacting with the winners, Mr Modi said that these awards offer an opportunity for recognition of talented children, and serve as an inspiration for others like them.
During their interaction with the Prime Minister, the children explained in detail their special achievements, and shared their inspirational stories.
Mr Modi shared some light and informal moments with the children who also requested him for autographs.
The awards have been given in two categories: Bal Shakti Puraskar to individuals; and Bal Kalyan Puraskar to institutions/individuals working for children.
A total of 783 applications were received for the Bal Shakti Puraskar this year.
The Ministry for Women and Child Development selected 26 awardees for the award, under the category of innovation, scholastic, sports, arts and culture, social service and bravery.
The National Selection Committee also finalised the names of two individuals and three institutions for Bal Kalyan Puraskar.
