PM to address virtual reality-based convocation of IIT-Guwahati

Guwahati, Sep 18 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, will host its 22nd Convocation virtually on September 22 next, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the students as the Chief Guest.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and his deputy Sanjay Dhotre will be the Guests of Honour, while Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will be the Special Guest.
Dr Rajiv I Modi, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Guwahati, and Prof. TG Sitharam, Director, IIT Guwahati, will also address the gathering during the event.

Kolkata, Apr 19 (UNI) An estimated 66.34 percent of 5.6 million electorate exercised their franchise till 3 PM in the first phase election to three Lok Sabha seats in North Bengal with Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri recording 65.54 per cent, 66.23 per cent and 67.28 per cent polling respectively.
