Khunti, Dec 3 (UNI) In the tribal heartland of Khunti which is also the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and with an eye on huge number of tribal reserved seats going into the polls in the second phase of polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi heaped lots of praise of party veteran and eight time former Khunti MP Kariya Munda during his third election rally of the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha polls.
Mr Modi upon reaching on the stage greeted all the leaders who were on the dias but he only went ahead and shook hands with former deputy speaker Kariya Munda who was also on the stage. Not only that he also held his hand and brought him on the center of the stage to wave to the people after which he got involved in an animated talks with him.
Later in his speech, he said when he was a worker in the BJP looking after the party organisation he had held the fingers of Kariya Munda and learnt the way to handle the organisation. "I have spent many years learning from him how to gather the people, how to look towards the villages...and have learnt a lot from him and under his vision was working for the development of the state," Mr Modi said.
Lavishing praise on his cabinet colleague and present Khunti MP Arjun Munda, he said there was no need for him to speak after listening to the speech given by Mr Munda. He said, when a leader like him who holds the honour of the soil and gives a call for making the BJP government in Jharkhand no way the flower of Lotus can fade away.
He also paid his tributes to Paramveer Chakra recipient Albert Ekka who was martyred on this day.
In the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, BJP had denied ticket to Kariya Munda and instead had fielded Arjun Munda from the seat.
