PM Modi to flag off 9 Vande Bharat express trains tomorrow

Chennai, Sep 23 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural
service of 9 Vande Bharat Express services on Sunday through video conferencing.
Of these, three Vande Bharat services will run in Southern Railway.
The three trains are Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasaragod Express
(the second exclusive Vande Bharat Express for Kerala), Tirunelveli-Chennai Egmore
-Tirunelveli Express (the first such premium service connecting the Southern cities
of Tamil Nadu with Chennai) and Vijayawada-Dr MGR Chennai Central-Vijayawada
(the first Vande Bharat connecting Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu via Renigunta).
The inaugural specials of these three Vande Bharat services will commence their
maiden journeys from Kasaragod, Tirunelveli and Vijayawada respectively after
flagging off by the Prime Minister.
Ceremonial functions will be held at enroute railway stations as well at the destination
stations, where a warm reception will be accorded to the prestigious service by elected
representatives, rail passengers, railway officials, students and general public.
Southern Railway sources said the indigenously manufactured Vande Bharat Express
is redefining rail travel experience in our country.
In order to provide an opportunity to children, rail enthusiasts and general public to get
a glimpse of the prestigious train service, the inaugural special of Kasaragod-
Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express will have stoppages at nominated
railway stations enroute.
Souvenir passes for travel in the inaugural special Vande Bharat Express have been
issued to identified dignitaries and identified cross sections of society including school
children and media.
General public are welcome to join the festivities at the en route stations during the
inaugural run.
