PM Modi holds marathon review with ministers, flags West Asia crisis

‎New Delhi, May 21 (UNI) ‎Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired a 4.5-hour marathon review meeting with the entire Council of Ministers, shortly after returning from a five-nation diplomatic tour covering the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy.
The high-level session, described by government functionaries as a major mid-term stocktaking exercise of the Modi government’s third term, focused on governance performance, economic preparedness, welfare delivery, and the fallout of the escalating West Asia conflict on India’s energy security and inflation. ‎
‎Ministers were directed to stay in Delhi for the review, underscoring its importance amid growing global uncertainty. The gathering, which included 30 Cabinet ministers, 36 Ministers of State, and 5 MoS with independent charge, was the first full meeting of the Council of Ministers this year and has intensified speculation of an impending Cabinet reshuffle or expansion as the government approaches key milestones later this year.
