PM Modi did nothing on terror: Cong

New Delhi, Mar 14(UNI) Responding to the attack by Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Rahul Gandhi for questioning the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on repeated attempts by China to block efforts at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to declare Masood Azhar as an international terrorist, the Congress on Thursday said PM Modi did nothing on terror.

In a post on social media, AICC spokesperson Priyanka Chatirvedi said, "Ravi Shankar Prasad ji wants Rahul Gandhi ji to build pressure on China to designate Masood Azhar as a global terrorist in the UNSC. Don’t worry, we will do this as soon as we take charge in 2019. Shamefully, despite laal ankh promise PM Modi did nothing on terror, JeM, Pakistan!"

Earlier on Thursday, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, responding to Rahul’s attack on the Pm for China blocking attempts by India to declare Masood Azhar as an international terrorist at the UN Security Council, on Thursday lashed out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi for taking pleasure when India's interests vis-a-vis- fight against terror have been foiled.

"Why is Rahul Gandhi at celebratory mood when country is at pain," BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here referring to Mr Gandhi's tweet in the morning wherein he attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the China policy.

China on Wednesday blocked UNSC bid to take actions against Masood Azhar.

"Mr Gandhi, do you understand with your statement today you are seen in close proximity with Masood Azhar," Mr Prasad said adding "your tweet today will be read with so much of pleasure in the office of Jaish-e-Mohammad".

In a post on social media on Thursday morning, the Congress president questioned the silence of the Prime Minister narendra modi on the matter and alleged that Mr Modi is scared of Chinse president Xi.

'Weak Modi is scared of Xi. Not a word comes out of his mouth when China acts against India. NoMo’s China Diplomacy: (i) Swing with Xi in Gujarat, (ii) Hug Xi in Delhi, and (iii) Bow to Xi in China,'Mr Gandhi said.

The comments by Mr Gandhi came after efforts by India and its global partners, including the US and France, to designate Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as global terrorist were on Wednesday blocked at the UNSC.
