New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives and property in Sri Lanka due to flooding and landslides while the Government of India dispatched ships with relief materials. “India condoles the loss of lives and property in Sri Lanka due to flooding and landslides. We stand with our Sri Lankan brothers and sisters in their hour of need," Mr Modi said here last night. He further said, "Our ships are being dispatched with relief material". While the first ship reached Colombo today morning, the second one will reach tomorrow on Sunday. "Further assistance on its way.” the Prime Minister has said. Sri Lankan Finance Minister Ravi Karunanay and Indian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu received Indian Naval Ship INS Kirch with relief items at the Colombo Port. Heavy rain-triggered landslide and floods in Sri Lanka have claimed up to 91 lives, leaving scores injured and over 100 missing in the week. UNI DEVN SV RSA 1158
