PM Modi arrives to warm welcome in Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Jun 27 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today arrived to a grand welcome in the Netherlands on the last leg of his three-nation tour. Mr Modi arrived to a warm welcome and was received by Dutch Finance Minister Bert Koenders at Schiphol Airport after he wrapped up a satisfactory visit to the United States and Portugal where he held high-level bilateral engagement with the Portugese government and delegation level talks with US President Donald Trump. In the Netherlands, Mr Modi will have an official meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on the issues of counter-terrorism and climate change. During his engagement here, he is also scheduled to meet CEOs of Dutch companies and will invite them to join the India growth story. Besides addressing the Indian diaspora in the country, Mr Modi in a Facebook posting prior to leaving on his three-nation trip last week informed that the would also be calling on King Willem-Alexander and meet Queen Maxima and pay his respects. In the US, Mr Modi held talks with President Trump during which the two leaders vowed to strengthen co-operation on terror. India and the US also urged Pakistan to ensure that its territory is not used to launch cross-border terror strikes. Earlier, he and his Portuguese counterpart Antonio Costa agreed to deepen cooperation against terrorism and give a push to their trade, economic and scientific and technological cooperation.
