New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met President of Niger, Issoufou Mahamadou on the margins of United Nations General Assembly.
'A friend from the heart of Africa. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President of Niger, Issoufou Mahamadou on the margins of UNGA,' tweeted MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar.
He wrote intensifying bilateral cooperation in the areas of solar energy, agriculture and counter terrorism was the main focus of discussion.
Earlier, kicking off his bilateral engagements, Prime Minister Modi met Amir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and discussed a range of issues between the two countries.
During the day, Mr Modi will also meet President of Namibia Hage Geingob and Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih.
